Located directly on the beach in Malibu, this second restaurant has also received extensive international press. The project presented some construction challenges, with the building developed directly on the sand site. Raw materials — wood and sand-toned concrete — were used to create a warm and understated connection with the coastal setting. The project was developed as a complete architectural mission, from construction through to interior design, in collaboration with Studio PCH and Montalba Architects.
